[Games Around the Corner] Week 41, 2020: Amnesia, Dogs, and Robots In Disguise

This week sees the release of a new Amnesia game, a survival rogue-lite with dogs, and a new Transformers game.

Amnesia: Rebirth

The third game in the Amnesia horror series, Amnesia: Rebirth casts you in the role of Tasi Trianon, who wakes up in the Algerian desert after days have passed. Having forgotten why she’s there and where her compatriots are, Trianon sets off to figure things out. The game will feature first-person exploration, puzzle solving, and monsters to avoid, while also requiring players to manage both physical and mental resources. The game will be released on October 21 for PC and PS4.

The Red Lantern

The Red Lantern is a first-person “story-driven, rogue-lite, survival game” set in the Alaskan wilderness. Aside from taking care of yourself as you make your way home, you’ll also have a team of sled dogs which you have to look after as well. The Nintendo store page description promises a dynamic world with nearly a hundred different encounters and eight pups with unique personalities, while the Epic Game Store description mentions that players can choose whether to hunt other living creatures or play cautiously. The game will be out on Nintendo Switch and Epic Games Store on October 22.

Transformers: Battlegrounds

Transformers: Battlegrounds will let you command the robots in disguise in tactical turn-based battles. Megatron is after the Allspark, and you’ll lead Autobots like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Grimlock against the Decepticons. The game promises different environments like urban streets and Cybertron with its Energon storms, as well as the ability to use special Ultimate Abilities with filled Energon meters. There will also be local multiplayer with modes like Capture the Flag, Horde, and Last Stand. The game will be released on October 23 for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Switch.
