This week seems to be one for wars between humans and the extraterrestrials ranging from the Xenomorphs in Aliens: Fireteam Elit to alien superheroes in No More Heroes 3. For a less-ET approach, players can try out a classic CRPG inspired by Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, and other classics.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite
Set after the events of Aliens 3, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a cooperative third-person survival shooter game where players take on the role of Colonial Marine along with two other players or AI teammates to fight their way through 11 Xenomorph types and deadly Weyland-Yutani synthetics, and other foes in the iconic Alien universe. Before they start, players can customise Colonial Marine by choosing from five classes, including Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Doc, and Recon. Each class will have its corresponding unique abilities and perks, so players must choose wisely.
In addition, players will be able to utilise "an extensive arsenal" of more than 30 weapons, and more than 70 mods and attachments. There will also be a Perk Board that enhances and modifies players' abilities. Players will be able to customise the difficulty settings of the game and they will also have access to the Challenge Cards, which modify how the Fireteam plays.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be released on 24 August on Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox X/S Series.
Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness
Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness is an isometric, party-based fantasy CRPG that takes place in Yerengal, a world where "dark gods have brought nothing but venality and greed". Players will have to recruit characters with unique personalities and traits when a civil war between the capital Isilbright and the wealthy mining town of Deron-Guld is ravaging the restored peace of the nation. Players will be able to choose from 5 playable races, including Human, Dwarf, Elf, Feldegug as well as Rillow, and 13 unique classes from 4 class groups including Priest, Outlaw, Warrior, and Wizard. Players' actions will decide if the greed curse will be the downfall of the kingdom.
Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness will launch on 24 August on Steam.
No More Heroes 3
No More Heroes 3 is the fourth installment of the No More Heroes franchise series. It is an action-adventure hack-and-slash video game. The latest installment follows Travis Touchdown's return to the city of Santa Destroy where he must stop the invasion of a powerful army of alien superheroes led by an alien named Jean Baptise VI, or more commonly known as Fu.
Foo's army includes "space ore dealer" Gold Joe, masked "alien kidnapper" Black Knight Direction, "memory thief" Vanishing Point, the surreal-looking Velvet Chair Girl, and "dark world princess" Midori Midorikawa, while the identity of the "big four" were not revealed in the trailer. Playing as Travis Touchdown, players must play their way to the top of the Galactic Superhero Rankings. Players will engage in combats alongside some mini-games to earn enough money for the ranking battles.
No More Heroes 3 will be available on 27 August exclusively on Switch.
