[Games Around The Corner] Week 30, 2020: Thrillers for Halloween

This weekend, we take a look at games perfect for the Halloween weekend. Whether you like them or not, they'll be out next week, so be ready!

Destroy All Humans! Remake

It's a little awkward that the remake of a 2005 action game is the highlight of next week, but the hype surrounding this piece of nostalgia speaks for itself. A video game that is synonymous with CRT monitors, Destroy All Humans' remake will no doubt still be attracting fans of the old franchise to play it on new platforms. The action-adventure game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia, and is available for pre-purchase on Steam already.

Maid of Sker

Nothing makes me sleep better at night than a good old sound-based horror game - just kidding, I'm terrified. The Welsh folklore-inspired gothic first person horror game has you trying to survive in a remote hotel with a dark history. You have to survive through sound cues as well as being stealthy against a cult of sound-based AI enemies. Definitely not a game for the fainthearted! Pre-ordering will get you 10% off on Steam, while it will also be released on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Just make sure you have a good pair of headphones!

Nioh 2: The Tengu's Disciple

Technically not a new game release, but a much-awaited DLC for the hit ARPG Nioh 2. Exclusive to PlayStation 4, Nioh 2: The Tengu's Disciple features a new weapon (which looks very badass), as well as new yokai bosses, new Guardian Spirits, new skills, and more armors to choose from. If you ever needed a reason to get the game, this might one of them.

All in all, not many triple-A titles are released next week, but once August rolls in, we are all in for a treat!
