Free Fire Kicks Off 8th Anniversary with Launching of new "Solara" Map In-Game!

Free Fire is celebrating its 8th anniversary on May 21 with the launch of Solara, its first new map in three years. This fast-paced, light-futuristic battleground introduces features like a full-map Slide system, dynamic weather, and more. Players can also earn rewards by completing special "Solarush!" event tasks while exploring the map.

Welcome to Solara — A brand new map blending nature and futuristic design

Solara spans 1,400 by 1,400 metres and combines vibrant natural landscapes with futuristic urban design, creating a dynamic setting for tactical gameplay, social interaction, and intense battles. Key zones like The Hub, Studio, and Bloomtown each offer unique experiences, while a twin-peak mountain at the center is surrounded by modernist, sci-fi-inspired architecture that captures Free Fire’s signature light-futuristic style.

Dynamic Combat and Gameplay Innovation

Solara introduces a range of fast-paced and tactical features designed to elevate competitive gameplay while offering fresh excitement for all players:

• Full-map Slide system: A rapid transport system with features like protective Gloo Wall shields and color-based enemy detection, allowing for strategic movement and combat.

  
  

• Dynamic weather system: Matches transition from day to dusk, affecting visibility and atmosphere across landmarks like Bloomtown and TV Tower, adding depth to gameplay.

  
  

• Interactive zones and Easter eggs: Players can discover hidden features such as the Riders Club horse statue, Delta Isle’s secret chamber, and the Kelly Show scene. From May 21, 8th Anniversary Tokens can also be collected at the Kelly Show area.

To celebrate the launch of Solara, Free Fire is hosting a limited-time in-game event called “Solarush!”. This event features a special interface with daily and themed tasks that encourage players to explore the new map. By completing these challenges, players can earn exclusive rewards, including unique animation effects, an event-themed emote, skyboard, parachute, and more.

Solara was first revealed during the Free Fire World Series Southeast Asia 2025 on May 16. Starting May 21, all players can experience the map firsthand and dive into a high-speed, strategic battlefield as part of Free Fire’s 8th anniversary celebration.
