ESL Gaming Is Sold for US$1 Billion to Savvy Gaming Group

Modern Times Group has reportedly sold its esports organization, ESL Gaming to Savvy Gaming Group for US$ 1 billion (~RM4.2 billion). Savvy Gaming Group is backed by the Saudi Arabian government's Public Wealth Fund. The company is led by CEO Brian Ward, former Activision Senior VP.

ESL is known for hosting large-scale esports tournaments for games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2. It also operates the ESL Pro League, one of CS:GO's top tournaments.
