Crystal Dynamics Teases New Marvel's Avengers Content, Believes Players Will Return

Game developer Crystal Dynamics have a plan for their Marvel’s Avengers game, which is facing a dwindling player population.

Responding to a query by Kotaku, studio head Scot Amos told the website that they are listening to feedback and mentioned some of the new content that’s coming out “in the weeks ahead”.

Among the new content is a new type of War Zone mission called Tachyon Rifts, a new Outpost that serves as “a jumping off point for new story missions”, and the high level AIM’s Cloning Lab, which will reward players with “top-end” loot.

There’s also the previously announced DLC character Kate Bishop and Clint Barton. Kate will be introduced in Operation: Taking AIM, while Clint will show up in another Operation. The two are Hawkeyes, and a PlayStation blog post described their Operations as a “double feature”.

“Lastly, we will continue to add new content to the game in the coming months as we address issues and overall game balance, including loot distribution and quality of life features everyone is clamoring for to improve our day-to-day experience from accessibility to co-op communication tools to balancing the economy!” Amos wrote. He added that the team was confident that players on all platforms will return to Marvel’s Avengers “as we add exciting new late-game content and demonstrate that we continue to be focused on improving the game”.

A new blog post detailing more information about the nearest new content will release next week. Amos also said that there will soon be new “community communication initiatives”.
