In a newsroom post, Spotify announces a new feature that allows all creators and publishers to publish video podcasts. Like the audio podcasts, creators can upload their videos to Spotify through Anchor and monetize the podcasts through paid subscriptions.
Video Podcast is now available for creators that reside in the U.S., UK, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada. Additionally, Spotify is introducing other features like embedding video podcasts and bulk replacing existing audio podcasts with video versions. Users will also be able to interact with the video podcasts through polls and Q&As. Finally, Spotify is partnering with Riverside to help creators record and publish videos for free.
Spotify has yet to announce if the feature will be made available to other countries than the five mentioned.
