Corsair has unveiled their first entry into the laptop market with their new Corsair Voyager a1600 laptop. Traditionally, a storage device manufacturer, Corsair has decided to shoot for the moon and designed a laptop not just around the traditional business or gaming uses of a laptop but streaming as well. Touted as a gaming/streaming laptop, Corsair will be partnering with AMD and Elgato to bring to market a laptop that will fit the needs of any budding content creator, gamer and even streamers.
The guts of this laptop will be powered completely by AMD, pairing the 8-core, 16-thread AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS processor with AMD Radeon RX 6800M mobile graphics to brute force through both graphically intense games as well as resource heavy applications like Adobe After Effects. This combination will also enable Corsair to take advantage of AMD's suite of exclusive smart technologies, such as AMD Smart Access Memory, which allow select AMD Ryzen processors to make full use of AMD Radeon’s high-speed GDDR6 graphics memory.
The laptop stays cool by making use of an advanced compact vapor chamber cooling system that evenly distributes heat, achieving lower temperatures and fitting all this into a 19.8mm thick form-factor.
This collaboration with AMD also includes a gorgeous 16-inch 2560x1600 QHD+ IPS screen with an ultra-high 240Hz refresh rate and support for AMD’s FreeSync Premium technology. Gamers will be able to experience most of today’s graphically intense games at high frame rates powered by the RX 6800M mobile graphics.
But what really separates Corsair’s new laptop from the pack is their collaboration with Elgato. By including ten easy-access customizable S-key shortcut buttons powered by Elgato Stream Deck software, streamers will have easy access to stream shortcuts built in right above their keyboards rather than requiring a separate device. That’s not all though, what streaming package would be complete without a 1080p30 FHD webcam and a noise canceling direction 4-microphone array.
To round out the package, Cherry MX Ultra-Low Profile keyswitches illuminated by per-key RGB backlighting using Capellix LEDs powered by Corsair iCUE software, a variety of ports, including two Thunderbolt 3-enabled USB 4.0 and one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, and an integrated receiver which can connect up to three Corsair SLIPSTREAM WIRELESS peripherals.
Currently, there isn't any local pricing for the laptop available yet. But in the US, the SRP will be $2,699 and $2, 999 for the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 model respectively. No estimated launch period available either, but it is expected to arrive later this year. #Corsair #CorsairVoyagera1600
