Black Shark 4 and Black Shark 4 Pro Gaming Phones Announced

Xiaomi’s Black Shark brand has announced two new gaming phones in the form of the Black Shark 4 and Black Shark 4 Pro.

As reported by GSMArena, the phones feature a Samsung-made 6.67” E4 AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch sampling rate. The Verge reports that the display is pressure-sensitive as well. They use the Android 11-based JOY UI 12.5 and sport pressure-sensitive shoulder buttons and two mode switch keys. Both have a 4,500 mAh battery and 120W fast charging, which can apparently fully charge the phones in slightly less than 15 minutes.

The Black Shark 4 is powered by a Snapdragon 870, while the Pro version comes with a Snapdragon 888. Camera-wise, the former has a 48MP main camera, 8MP ultra wide camera, and a 5MP sensor for its rear setup, while the latter swaps out the 48MP camera for a 64MP one. Both have a 20MP punch hole camera in front. Outside of the processors and main cameras, other notable differences between the Black Shark 4 and Black Shark 4 Pro are the latter’s two-layer liquid cooling system and RAMDISK.

The Black Shark 4 offers 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB, 12GB+128GB, and 12GB+256GB configurations (LPDDR5 5500MHz+UFS 3.1) for 2,499 yuan (~RM1,585), 2,699 yuan (~RM1,711), 2,999 yuan (RM1,902), and 3,299 yuan (~RM2,092) respectively. Meanwhile, the Pro version comes in 8GB+256GB,12GB+256GB, and 16GB+512GBconfigurations (LPDDR5 6400MHz + UFS 3.1) at 3,999 Yuan (~RM2,537), 4,499 Yuan (~RM2,854), and 5,299 (~RM3,362) yuan respectively.
