ASUS has officially introduced the ExpertBook Ultra, its latest premium business laptop, during the Next Enterprise Summit 2026, positioning it as the company's flagship AI-powered commercial notebook for professionals and enterprise users. The launch event gathered over 1,000 enterprise partners and industry leaders from across the region.
Designed around Microsoft's Copilot+ PC ecosystem and powered by Intel's latest Core Ultra X7 Series 3 processors, the ExpertBook Ultra aims to combine desktop-class performance with ultra-portable mobility, weighing as little as 0.99kg while maintaining a sustained 50W CPU power envelope—a specification rarely seen in laptops of this size.
Built for AI-Driven Productivity
With AI quickly becoming part of everyday workflows, ASUS says the ExpertBook Ultra is designed for professionals who rely on local AI processing, real-time collaboration, and demanding multitasking.
The laptop integrates a dedicated 50 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU) alongside Intel Arc graphics, enabling on-device AI features such as live transcription, translation, document search, and generative AI workloads without depending on cloud computing. According to ASUS, the full platform delivers up to 180 TOPS of AI compute.
Microsoft also highlighted that Windows 11 Pro Copilot+ features running locally on the device can help reduce latency while improving privacy for enterprise users working with sensitive business information.
Performance Without the Typical Trade-Offs
One of the ExpertBook Ultra's biggest talking points is its cooling system.
Despite measuring just 10.9mm thin, ASUS claims its ExpertCool Pro thermal solution allows the processor to sustain 50W TDP without significant throttling, while still operating quietly during lighter workloads.
The laptop also supports:
Up to Intel Core Ultra X7-358H
Up to 64GB LPDDR5X-9600 memory
Up to 2TB PCIe Gen 5 SSD
Intel Arc integrated graphics
ASUS says the PCIe Gen 5 storage can achieve read speeds exceeding 14GB/s, helping accelerate large file transfers, AI models and creative workloads.
Premium Display and Long Battery Life
The ExpertBook Ultra features a 14-inch 3K OLED touchscreen with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 1,400 nits HDR peak brightness, and support for 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage. ASUS also introduces Tandem OLED technology on selected models, which the company says improves brightness while reducing power consumption and extending panel lifespan.
Powering the system is a 70Wh battery, with ASUS claiming up to 26 hours of battery life, alongside fast charging that provides approximately six hours of use after a 15-minute charge.
Security Remains a Key Focus
Beyond performance, ASUS places considerable emphasis on enterprise security.
The ExpertBook Ultra includes:
NIST SP 800-193 compliant firmware protection
Dual self-healing BIOS
Microsoft Pluton security
TPM 2.0
Physical webcam shutter
Fingerprint reader
Windows Hello IR facial recognition
The platform has also been independently validated by SGS Brightsight Singapore for cybersecurity compliance.
Lightweight Design for Mobile Professionals
Constructed using AZ31B magnesium-aluminium alloy, the chassis weighs just 0.99kg (depending on configuration) while featuring ASUS' Nano Ceramic coating for improved scratch resistance.
The laptop also retains a full selection of ports—including Thunderbolt 4, USB-A, HDMI 2.1 and a headphone jack—reducing the need for external adapters during travel.
Price and Availability
The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra (B9406CAA) is now available in Malaysia starting from RM7,999, with configurable options reaching up to the Intel Core Ultra X7 Series 3 processor.
As part of its launch promotion running until 31 July 2026, customers purchasing the device will also receive a RM500 Malaysia Airlines eGift Card, subject to terms and conditions.
Our Take
Rather than chasing the thinnest design alone, ASUS appears to be targeting a niche that has traditionally required compromises: combining workstation-class performance, AI acceleration and enterprise-grade security in an ultra-light chassis. If its claimed sustained 50W performance and battery life translate into real-world usage, the ExpertBook Ultra could become one of the more compelling premium business laptops available for professionals who frequently work on the move.
