Assassin's Creed Mirage recreates the first game's essence with blue filters and more parkour

Ubisoft has released a new developer diary for Assassin's Creed Mirage, dubbed "A Return To The Roots," exploring the behind-the-scenes of the game development and how the team pays tributes to the original Assassin's Creed by bringing back the core elements such as parkour, stealth and assassination in contrast to the RPG style that Assassin's Creed Valhalla used.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a "love letter to the franchise's origins, a coming of age story with rhythm mechanics to bring the feel of the early games into the modern day," according to Creative Director Stéphane Boudon.

Not only that, but Senior Game Designer Marco Maresca also states that "Mirage" highlights the comfort and fluidity in parkour like the Ezio trilogy, with familiar parkour mechanics such as corner swing, vaulting, elevators, and pole vault to allow players to roam the environment seamlessly.

Moreover, Ubisoft also added the filter option as an addition to the upcoming Assassin's Creed Mirage, which shares the same blue/gray color palette from the first Assassin's Creed game.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is planned to be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on October 12, 2023.
