It looks like Apple will be announcing four iPhone 12 models at its upcoming 13 October (14 October in Malaysian time) event.
According to leaker Kang (via The Verge), Apple will announce the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. They will also announce a new HomePod Mini speaker.
All of the iPhone 12 variants will apparently have a Super Retina XDR display, a “Ceramic Shield" cover for increased drop resistance, and 5G support, with the US also getting mmWave support.
Kang also provided further details about the respective phones. The iPhone 12 Mini is said to be a 5.4-inch device with black, white, red, blue, and green colour options. It will have 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options, as well as a wide angle and ultra wide angle dual-camera setup. The starting price is US$699 (~RM2,893). Size aside, those specs are apparently also shared by the iPhone 12, which is 6.1 inches and will start at US$799 (~RM3,306).
The iPhone 12 Pro will reportedly be 6.1 inches with gold, silver, graphite, and blue colour options. It will have 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options. The phone has a triple-camera setup with wide-angle, ultra-wide angle, and telephoto cameras, as well as LiDAR. Kang says that it has four-times optical zoom. Its starting price is US$999 (~RM4,134).
The iPhone 12 Pro Max is said to be 6.7-inch device with the same colour and storage options as the Pro. It also has a triple-camera setup with wide-angle, ultra-wide angle, and telephoto cameras plus LiDAR. However, it provides five times optical zoom and apparently has a larger sensor as well. The starting price is US$1,099 (~RM4,548).
In addition, Kang says that the phones will use Magsafe wireless charging.
As always, take these with a grain of salt for now. Luckily, it won’t be long before we know for sure. The Apple Event will take place on 13 October at 10am PDT, or 14 October at 1am PDT in Malaysia.
