Apple's New iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max Packs Pro Camera System and More

Alongside the standard and mini variants, Apple has also officially revealed the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, introducing an all-new Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion featuring up to 120 Hz refresh rate.

The Pro variant comes with a 6.1" Super Retina XDR OLED display while the Pro Max variant has a larger size panel at 6.7", both of which are protected by the Ceramic Shield. Both devices support the company's new ProMotion technology that supports adaptive refresh rates between 10 Hz - 120 Hz to preserve battery life. The displays on the two models have 1000 nits of brightness.

Both devices are powered by Apple's new A15 Bionic chip, which features a 5-core GPU, and offers faster processing speeds and graphics performance. The new smartphones are packed with a triple rear camera setup comprising a 12 MP f/1.5 wide sensor with sensor-shift and dual optical image stabilisation, a 12 MP f/1.8 ultrawide-angle with macro capability, and a 12 MP f/2.8 telephoto with 3x optical zoom and dual optical image stabilisation. Housed on the front display is a 12 MP f/2.2 TrueDepth camera with Face ID recognition technology.

The Pro variants also come with the new Cinematic Mode to record videos with automatic focus changes. Besides that, they also include Apple's new Photographic Styles feature, which can identify users' personal photo preferences and automatically apply the style to future shots.


Running on iOS 15, the Pro models offer 5G connectivity. Battery-wise, both devices come with a 20 W fast-charging support via its Lightning cable. They also support up to 15 W MagSafe and up to 7.5 W Qi wireless charging. The phones are also IP68 water and dust resistance.

The iPhone 13 Pro lineup will be available in four colour variants: graphite, gold, silver, and sierra blue in 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB storage options. The iPhone 13 Pro will start from RM4,899 while the iPhone 13 Pro Max will start from RM5,299. Both will arrive in Malaysia on 8 October.
