Apple Officially Launches the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini

During the California Streaming event, Apple has officially announced the most anticipated iPhone 13 series - the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini.

Featuring the Super Retina XDR OLED screens with Ceramic Shield Protection, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini come with 6.1" and 5.4" displays respectively. Both models have a durable flat-edge design and an aluminium frame.

Powering the phones is Apple's latest A15 Bionic chipset, which can offer 50% faster processing speed and 30% faster graphics acceleration than "the competition", according to the company. Running on iOS 15, the phones come with an improved 5G connectivity.

Both devices sport a rear diagonal dual-camera array consisting of a 12 MP f/1.16 main shooter with sensor-shift stabilisation technology and a 12 MP f/2.4 ultra-wide sensor with a 120-degree field of view. Meanwhile, the front-facing TrueDepth camera has a 12 MP f/2.2 sensor with Face ID authentication capability.

The phones also come with features like the new Cinematic Mode, Photographic Styles, Smart HDR 4, and more. The Cinematic Mode enables the camera to automatically shift focus from an object to another in real-time.

As for the battery, Apple claims that the new iPhone 13 can last up to 2.5 hours more than its predecessor while the iPhone 13 mini can last up to 1.5 hours more than the iPhone 12 mini. Both models come with 20 W fast-charging support. Additionally, they can also support up to 15 W MagSafe and up to 7.5 W Qi wireless charging.

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini will be available in four colour variants: pink, blue, midnight, starlight, and red. They also come in three storage variants: 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB. The iPhone 13 will start from RM3,899 while the iPhone mini will start from RM3,399. Both models will arrive in Malaysia on 8 October.
