Along with the launch of the new MacBook Pro, Apple has also released the third generation of AirPods, featuring spatial audio, sweat and water resistance, as well as extended battery life.
The new AirPods come with a lightweight and contoured design for comfortable usage and have an IPX4 sweat and water resistance rating for both the earbuds and the charging case. The microphone is said to be covered by an acoustic mesh to reduce the sound of wind so speakers' voices will become more distinct during calls. It also features AAC-ELD, a superior speech codec that offers full HD voice quality.
It supports both Adaptive EQ and spatial audio. Adaptive EQ tunes sound in real-time based on how the earphones fit in the user's ear. Meanwhile, spatial audio creates a three-dimensional theatre-like experience. It also has Dolby Atmos.
In terms of battery, the new AirPods can last for up to 6 hours of playback and up to 4 hours of talk time. A 5-minute charge can provide it with about an hour of battery life. With the charging case, users can get up to 30 hours of total listening time. It also supports MagSafe wireless charging now. The third generation of AirPods will be available for order soon on apple.com/my/store for RM829. This puts it between the second generation of AirPods at RM589 and the AirPods Pro at RM1,099.
