Acer Malaysia's 30th Anniversary Brings a Huge Variety of Awesome New Delights

...especially the yee sang.

Just kidding, but thanks Acer for the amazing celebratory lunch!

Today, Acer celebrated its 30-year anniversary in Malaysia by treating us to a whole host of exciting new products that made us wet our pants (a little).

Without further ado, let's check 'em out one by one!

Spin me right round, baby

If you're not familiar with the Acer Spin laptop family, they come with hinges that fold 360 degrees and can thus be used in a multitude of positions to suit your needs.

The Acer Spin 3 is fresh out of the CES oven with a sibeh strong 10th-gen Intel processor and 512GB of PCIe NVMe SSD. Besides being bendier than your kinky ex, it's also slim and light, measuring in at only 16.9mm thin and weighing a mere 1.5kg.

What's more, the accompanying stylus uses Wacom AES (active electrostatic) technology and comes with fast-charging capabilities - just stow it in the storage dock for a mere 15 seconds, and you'll get 90 minutes of use! (If only my body worked the same way...sigh.)

The Core i5 + 8GB RAM variant is priced at RM3,199, while the Core i3 + 4GB RAM variant costs RM2,699.

A laptop that lasts, and lasts, and lasts...

Want a productivity laptop that won't die on you in the middle of a crucial meeting? The Acer TravelMate P614 features a whopping 20 hours of battery life that lasts you practically the whole day. It also has a special fast charge function that tops it up to 50% in just 45 minutes, in case your naughty kitty yanked out the charger and let your battery run flat without you noticing.

For chor lor (rough) people like me, the MIL-STD-810G and 810F military-grade durability certification will certainly prove a life-saver. It also has an ultra-lightweight magnesium-alloy chassis that weighs only 1.1kg, so even taugeh-armed office blokes will be able to carry it around all day without needing physiotherapy.

It also comes with a 10th-gen Intel processor, Thunderbolt 3 technology, a fingerprint reader under the power button, AND WiFi 6 for a super-speedy internet connection.

The Core i7 + 1TB SSD variant retails for RM6,299, while the Core i5 + 512GB SSD variant is priced at RM4,899.

An AIO that actually ain't ugly

Unlike the chonky AIO PCs of yore, the Acer Aspire C27-962 All-in-One is a slim and sleek piece of family-friendly tech.

First up, what impressed me was the peekaboo webcam shutter, which allows you to slide it shut when you're not using it, so the FBI can't watch you while you indulge in potentially embarrassing activities in front of your computer.

It also comes with Acer's BlueLightShield tech to protect your delicate eyeballs, and offers a generous helping of USB 3.1 gen 1 ports to stick up to 4 peripherals into.

Featuring a 27-inch full HD IPS display, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 1TB HDD, a 10th-gen Intel Core i5 processor and NVIDIA Geforce MX510 graphics, the Acer Aspire C27-962 AIO PC is available immediately for RM3,499.

Netflix and chill for real

Acer is about to make all your 'netflix and chill' dreams come true with the handy little Acer C250i projector. It's the world's first auto portrait LED projector, which means you can change the projection orientation on the fly.

'Why does it look so weird...like some sort of twisted swiss roll?'

Good thing you asked, because the twisted roll appearance was actually deliberately designed to enable projecting on any surface without requiring a stand or tripod.

To further maximise portability, it also comes packed with a 9,000mAh battery, built-in Bluetooth speakers, as well as wireless compatibility with both Android and iOS.

In terms of connectivity, the C250i is equipped with standard HDMI, USB Type-C and Type-A ports. The latter, along with a micro-SD card slot, enables direct multimedia playback from a USB drive without any additional devices.

So now, you can cuddle up in bed with this little projector and watch movies from under the sheets - only for RM1,699.

Not one, not two, but THREE series of monitors

There's truly one for everyone here.

The 34-inch CB342K UltraWide QHD monitor comes with a ZeroFrame design and is equipped with the Acer ErgoStand to adjust the tilt, swivel, and height for the best viewing experience.

The Predator XB273UGS monitor supports NVIDIA G-Sync, and packs a 27-inch VESA Certified Display HDR400 WQHD display for your viewing pleasure. Gamers will also appreciate how speedy it is, with its 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms GTG and 0.5ms min. GTG response time.

The Acer Nitro XV series monitors are pushing the limits of technology by outputting 240Hz refresh rates on IPS panels. Usually higher refresh rates are reserved for TN or VA panels, which are known to be faster but have inferior display quality compared to IPS panels - with these monitors, you'll enjoy the best of both worlds with beautiful AND speedy displays. Casual gamers will also enjoy AMD Radeon FreeSync technology and 0.1ms response times.

You can find the prices for each of them in the handy table below:

Phew! And that concludes our summary of today's exciting new releases.

That's a LOT of cool new stuff - and it's only the beginning of the year! Here's hoping that we can get our hands on some of these babies for a more detailed review. *cough* *hint* *cough* hehe

Until then, we can't wait to see what else Acer brings to the table for the rest of 2020!

Update: We almost forgot the best part! Anyone who purchases select Acer models from 1 Feb to 31 March 2020 will be able to redeem free gifts such as Predator gaming chairs, bomber jackets, gadgets, as well as well Acer Malaysia's 30th anniversary limited edition merch.
