A First Look at the Galaxy Z Fold7: Unfolding a New Standard in Foldable Design!


At Galaxy Unpacked 2025 in Brooklyn on July 9, Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold7, setting a new benchmark in foldable smartphone innovation.


As the thinnest and lightest Fold in the series, the Galaxy Z Fold7 introduces powerful multimodal AI, a redesigned user interface, and the lineup’s first-ever 200MP camera — all wrapped in a refined design that pushes the boundaries of what a foldable can be.

Design: Slimmer and Lighter


The Galaxy Z Fold7 is the slimmest and lightest model in the Fold series yet, measuring just 4.2mm when open, 8.9mm when folded, and weighing 215g — impressive figures given its folding mechanism and full cover display.


Its streamlined design is immediately noticeable, offering a feel closer to a traditional bar-style phone. It’s even thinner than a typical passport or card wallet, making it highly portable and easy to carry.


The cover display now features a wider 21:9 aspect ratio, improving usability for tasks like messaging, browsing, and checking emails — all without needing to unfold the device.


Further enhancing its design, the new Armor FlexHinge is slimmer yet durable, with a refined structure that reduces crease visibility, adding to the Fold7’s polished look and feel.


Camera: Clarity at the Highest Resolution


The Galaxy Z Fold7 is the first in its series to feature a powerful 200MP camera, delivering four times the detail of the previous 50MP model. Enhanced by the AI-driven ProVisual Engine, it produces sharper, more vibrant photos.


With Nightography, users can capture clear, detailed images even in low light. The front main camera now offers a wider 100° field of view, making it easier to take everything from group selfies to expansive travel shots — all while fully utilizing the Fold7’s large display.


Multimodal AI and One UI 8: Contextual Help in Real Time


The Galaxy Z Fold7 launches with One UI 8, introducing Samsung’s most advanced multimodal AI experience yet.


Powered by Google’s Gemini Live, users can now share their screen in real time while interacting with the AI assistant — allowing for intelligent, context-aware suggestions based on what’s displayed. For example, spotting an unfamiliar dessert in a photo? Gemini can identify it, suggest nearby spots that serve it, save the list, and even set a calendar reminder — all without switching apps.


Paired with the Fold7’s large Multi-Window display, this AI functionality becomes even more powerful. Users can, for instance, compare a chair and a room on split screens and ask Gemini if they match — with the AI analyzing both and offering tailored suggestions.


This Galaxy-exclusive AI experience supports interaction through text, images, voice, and live camera input, making daily tasks more intuitive and efficient.
