NFTs (or known as non-fungible tokens) are very popular now especially since many companies are looking for chances to take advantage of them. Unsurprisingly, but one of them is YouTube. The company is now exploring features for video creators to capitalize on NFTs.
CEO Susan Wojcicki wrote in a letter on YouTube's 2022 priorities, "We're always focused on expanding the YouTube ecosystem to help creators capitalize on emerging technologies, including things like NFTs, while continuing to strengthen and enhance the experiences creators and fans have on YouTube."
When asked more about the potential NFT features on the platform, the spokesperson for Alphabet Inc's YouTube refused to give more details.
NFTs are digital assets stored in technology blockchain. They have seen a surge in popularity over the past year as people buy artwork and video highlights, but the craze has slowed down towards the end of 2021.
