It's without a doubt that Xiaomi is improving its first product - MIUI - as we have seen the company releasing minor updates, MIUI 12.5 and MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition this year alone. Xiaomi is reportedly working on another feature called MIUI Pure Mode.
The new feature will function to help users in protecting themselves from malicious applications. According to the company, around 40% of installed apps by the default MIUI installer have not passed its security audit and around 10% have been recognised as a potential security risk. The Pure Mode, when enabled, will block users from installing apps from external sources without the consent of users. Luckily for some Xiaomi users, they can disable the feature if they really want to download apps from other sources.
The feature's beta test is available today in China. As of now, it's still not known if the Pure Mode will make its way to the international market or if it will be available in the upcoming MIUI13.
