Xiaomi Civi Will Remain Exclusive to China, Company Confirms

Writer: OliviaOlivia

Earlier this week, Xiaomi has launched its new Civi smartphone in China, featuring a Snapdragon 778G chipset, a 120 Hz AMOLED display, and a 32 MP selfie camera.

The company confirmed with Android Authority that it has no plans to bring the device to the global markets and "Xiaomi CIVI remains a Mainland China-only device". While it will only be available in the Chinese market, the statement doesn't completely rule out a rebranded version of the phone for the global markets.

The Xiaomi Civi comes with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. It features a 6.55" OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. Underneath the hood is a 4500 mAh battery which supports 55 W fast charging.

Other features include an in-screen fingerprint scanner, MIUI 12.5 based Android 1, dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and a USB-C charging port. The device will go on sale in China tomorrow.
