vivo X Fold Launches with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 120Hz Displays, and Flagship Cameras

vivo has officially launched its first foldable smartphone in China - the vivo X Fold.

The X Fold features a 6.53" outer AMOLED display and a folding 8.03" LTPO2 inner AMOLED E5 display, both with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The main display has a refresh rate that can go down as low as 1Hz. The inner display is protected by a Schott ultra thin glass and Display Mate's A+ recommendation. There are two fingerprint scanners integrated into both the outer and inner displays. It uses an aircraft-grade floating wing hinge, which allows the device to fold flat, or stay folded between 60° - 120°.

The flagship phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset along with 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. A 66W fast charger can fully charge its 4600mAh battery in 37 minutes. It also supports up to 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging.

On the back is a quad-camera setup, which consists of a Samsung GN5 50MP F/1.8 main camera with OIS, a 48MP F/2.2 ultrawide angle camera, a 12MP portrait lens, and a 5MP periscopic telephoto lens with up to 5x optical zoom and 60x digital zoom. There are two punch-hole 16MP selfie cameras - one on the outer display and one on the inner. The cameras are developed in collaboration with Zeiss. Zeiss modes include Texture Portrait, Motion Capture 3.0, Zeiss Super Night Scene, Zeiss Nature Color, and more.

The vivo X Fold will be available in three color variants: blue, black, and grey. It will be on sale in China starting from 22 April for the following prices:

  • 12GB + 256GB - 8,999 Yuan (~RM5,983)

  • 12Gb + 512GB - 9,999 Yuan (~RM6,648)
