Unboxing the OPPO Find X5 Pro

Freshly arrived in Malaysia is OPPO's latest flagship - the OPPO Find X5 Pro - featuring the brand's "first-ever self-developed" NPU, MariSilicon X. Before we go deep into testing the device, let's do a quick unboxing!

Now if you're an OPPO device user, the box packaging of the Find X5 Pro shouldn't be strange to you. Slightly different from the Reno series, the Find X5 Pro is packed in a grey and black box with the huge number 5 on the top left, representing the X5 device. The name of the device is printed at the bottom so you know what you're getting inside the box.

Inside the box, you'll get:

  • The OPPO Find X5 Pro

  • Quick start guide and safety guide

  • SIM ejector tool

  • 80W SuperVOOC charger

  • USB-A to USB-C cable

  • An exclusive Premium Service card for the Find X5 Pro

The phone comes in two color variants in the Malaysian market: Ceramic White and Glaze Black. The ceramic finish gives it a very premium feel and it looks sleek as a fashion item (if you'd like to show it off on social media).

On the back, the rear camera module raises a little asymmetrically instead of jutting out from the rear. The back is overall clean and minimal with only the OPPO and Hasselblad brandings on the bottom right corner apart from the rear camera.

Surrounding the 4 sides of the phone are aluminum edges that home the buttons and ports. There's a microphone on the top, and you'll find another one at the bottom, aligned with the SIM tray, USB-C charging port, and stereo speaker. The volume rocker is located on the left while the power button is placed on the right.

Housing the 32MP front camera is a 6.7" AMOLED LPTO display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a WQHD+ (3216 x 1440) resolution. There's a built-in fingerprint sensor at the bottom of the screen. Besides that, you can opt for face recognition or the usual numeric, pattern, or alphanumeric options.

Running on ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12, the Find X5 Pro is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Inside the device is a 5000mAh battery with support for 80W SuperVOOC wired charging and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging.

Overall, the OPPO Find X5 Pro meets the expectations of a premium device starting from its design, and the specs look promising on paper but we'll only be sure after we try it out. Also, it feels very solid when you hold it in your hands with a weight of 218g.
