TP-Link has just added a brand new WiFi router to their ever-growing catalogue of routers with the new TP-Link Deco BE25, which provides fast and strong WiFi7 coverage throughout your entire home with speeds up to 5 Gbps! In this review article, I will be taking a further look into this WiFi router, discussing its design, its functionality and network speed in order to determine how effective the router is and whether you should consider getting it for your home!
Design
The Tp-Link Deco BE25 comes in a compact cylindrical shape that is both stylish and comfortable and allows you to be able to seamlessly blend into your homes. With its size, you’ll also be able to easily place the router in places such as your shelf or tables without it taking much space. In addition, the router also comes with an LED indicator ring below the device and it will display the status of the router.
Connectivity Ports
In terms of the ports that are being offered the TP-Link Deco BE25 is equipped with dual 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports which can be used for both WAN (internet input) and LAN (local network) connections which ensures that you’ll be able to enjoy immersive live streams without dealing with any buffering as well as carry out intensive tasks such as cloud gaming and 8K video streaming.
Furthermore, the TP-Link Deco BE25 is built with the latest WiFi7 MLO technology which helps increase the backhaul aggregation flow rate of both the wired and wireless pathways of the router. This, in turn, helps to boost the performance and increase connectivity coverage by managing the network traffic and reducing the latency.
Security
In terms of its security measures, the TP-Link Deco BE25 comes with a built-in service known as HomeShield which provides a variety of features in order to help secure your devices to ensure a more secure internet experience.
One of the features includes the Network Protection which offers security tools to monitor and safeguard your home network by scanning for potential online threats and blocking them to prevent further attacks on your home network.
Besides that, another feature that the router provides is the Parental Control, which is a feature that would benefit households with children. With this attribute, parents will be able to control their children’s internet access by being able to block out inappropriate content and websites and even limit their time online. In addition to this, the HomeShield feature can also be accessed while you’re away from home as well, and through the use of the KidShield feature, parents will be able to monitor the locations of their children with ease.
Furthermore, the TP-Link Deco BE25 also comes with a built-in VPN support which ensures that you’ll be able to connect to your network even while away from home. With the VPN, it can also help keep your data private, ensuring secure browsing even on public WiFi networks.
AI-Driven Mesh
The TP-Link Deco BE25 is equipped with built-in Deco Mesh technology which forms a unified WiFi network under a single name. With this, users will be able to easily get strong WiFi connections throughout the house even while you’re moving around, allowing them to enjoy a seamless and uninterrupted streaming experience. In addition to this, the TP-Link Deco BE25 is also compatible with other Deco models and can be used to form a Mesh network.
The router’s built-in AI Roaming technology intelligently monitors your device’s signal strength when moving around your house before it then seamlessly connects your device to the strongest Wi-Fi source to ensure that you will be able to get strong connectivity at all times. With this feature, you’ll be able to get optimal connectivity even as you move across different floors in your home.
Furthermore, even while utilising Deco Mesh, the network speed of the Deco BE25 is still able to maintain at a relatively high speed, allowing for seamless connectivity throughout the house, even when you’re in different locations. The network speed test was conducted on the TP-Link Deco App.

Wi-Fi Setup
In terms of setting up the WiFi network, the setup required for the TP-Link Deco BE25 is both easy and convenient as it can be done through the TP-Link Deco App. After that, it only takes three simple steps in order to set it up and for your house to get strong and reliable WiFi.
Wi-Fi Performance Test
When testing out the Wi-Fi performance of the TP-Link Deco BE25, I decided to carry out its speed test using my mobile device.
The Wi-Fi performance of the Deco BE25 feels decently fast, but to determine the exact speed of the router, I used the Ookla Speedtest and compared it to the office Wi-Fi. In order to get a more accurate reading, I conducted the test at three separate distances in the office.
▲Office Floor Plan for the Router
I used the same phone, the Honor Magic5 Pro, and connected it to both networks, the office Wi-Fi which uses 5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 before connecting it to the Deco BE25 which uses 5 GHz Wi-Fi 7. Below are the results from each position:
▲Test 1: Same room as router (Deco BE25 vs Office Router)
▲Test 2: Different Room from router (Deco BE25 vs Office Router)
▲Test 3: Furthest Room from Router (Deco BE25 vs Office Router)
Verdict
In conclusion, the TP-Link Deco BE25 is a router that is definitely something that people should be looking into, especially those who often play games online or even streams. With its incredible high-speed connectivity, low latency and even advanced security features, I truly believe that this router is something you should consider getting, especially if you live in a bigger house.
