The Garmin Run Asia Series 2022 Malaysia Marathon Registration is Open Now

After 3 years since its last marathon in 2019, the Garmin Run Asia Series is back with a series of race categories, including 5km, 10km, 21km, and a full marathon at 42km. The marathon race is set to take place on 11 September at Dataran Kehakiman Putrajaya. Participants can register for the race with both virtual and physical options with an early bird price of RM55.

In conjunction with the marathon announcement, Garmin Malaysia has introduced a grand

lucky draw and additional bi-weekly competition for participants to stand a chance to win Garmin products worth RM10k, free race slots at the marathon, Garmin merchandise, Garmin smartwatches, sponsored products, and more.

To join the grand lucky draw, all you need to do is sign up for the physical marathon and the winner will be selected on the event day. The winner will be required to present their race bib during the announcement. As for the bi-weekly lucky draw, you can join via Garmin Malaysia's social media pages on Facebook and Instagram. You'll need to like and share the post, comment why you would like to be part of the Garmin Run Asia Series 2022, and tag 3 friends.

The marathon is open to the following groups:

  • 5km: 5 - 12 years

  • 10km: 13 years and above

  • 21km & 42km: 18 years and above

Registration is open for both locals and foreigners with an early bird price fee until 11 June. Normal registration will follow until 31 July. All registrations are not inclusive of Group Personal Accident Insurances and delivery fees.

As for the virtual marathon, participants are allowed to use any running tracking apps (including but not limited to the Garmin app, Strava, Nike, and more) or devices to

measure their running progress outdoors. Pedometers and treadmills are strictly not allowed.

Participants can run anytime and anywhere from 1 - 30 September. Those who are competing in the 5km or 10km categories must complete the run in one go while the other two categories can be completed with a minimum of 10km per attempt.

Participants will receive multiple entitlements in the form of finisher medals, event tees (dry fit), and race bibs. Those who take part in the 21km and 42km races will get marathon finisher t-shirts and cash prizes.
