According to the Bloober Team, the Silent Hill 2 Remake development is "technically ready", CEO Piotr Babieno revealed in an interview reported by Bankier.pl. Even though the development of the game is close to being completed, it doesn't mean the game will be launching sooner as the release date is in the hands of Konami.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is powered by Unreal Engine 5 with an over-the-shoulder camera with a new combat system by Bloober Team, the developer of Layers of Fear.
