The Sega Mega Drive Mini 2 has been officially announced and confirmed for a worldwide release. In a recent interview with Famitsu, the Japanese company confirmed its plans for a global launch, including Europe and North America.

The console will officially debut on 27 October in Japan and we assume the overseas launch is slated after that. The North American version will presumably be named Sega Genesis Mini 2. It will launch with 50 games, including Sonic CD, Thunder Force 4, and Virtua Racing, as well as titles for Sega CD.
The Mega Drive Mini 2 will cost 9,980 Yen (~RM335). There will also be a Sega CD mini accessory for the Mega Drive Mini 2 for 4,500 Yen (~RM151).
