Samsung Presents ‘Your Companion to AI Living’ at The First Look during CES 2026!

Samsung Electronics unveiled its “Companion to AI Living” vision at CES 2026’s The First Look event, positioning AI as the core philosophy driving its R&D, products, operations, and user experience. CEO TM Roh highlighted Samsung’s AI-powered, connected ecosystem across mobile, displays, home appliances, and services—designed to deliver more unified, personal, and meaningful AI experiences in everyday life.

Entertainment Companion: Extending the Experience Beyond Simple Viewing

Samsung showcased its next-generation display vision by combining hardware excellence with AI-powered visual intelligence to create a true entertainment companion. Headlined by the 130-inch Micro RGB TV with unparalleled color precision and the Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, the lineup introduces Vision AI Companion (VAC) to personalise viewing, sound, lifestyle recommendations, and multi-device experiences across the home. The 2026 range also brings HDR10+ ADVANCED, Eclipsa Audio, new OLED and projector designs, expanded audio products, and Samsung’s most advanced Odyssey gaming monitors— all powered by the most capable Tizen OS yet, with seven years of upgrades to ensure long-term evolution.

Home Companion: Connected Smart Appliances That Guide You Through Your Day

Samsung highlighted its vision to transform home appliances into AI-powered home companions that simplify daily life. With over 430 million SmartThings users, the company leverages deep insights to enhance connected living. The AI-enabled Family Hub refrigerator, upgraded with Google Gemini AI Vision, streamlines meal planning with features like recipe recommendations, Video to Recipe, and FoodNote weekly reports, while Voice ID personalizes content for each family member. In the laundry and home care space, Bespoke AI appliances—like the Laundry Combo, AI AirDresser, and Jet Bot Steam Ultra—offer automated cycles, wrinkle care, smart navigation, and home monitoring. A new partnership with Hartford Steam Boiler further integrates SmartThings connectivity to deliver safety benefits and potential insurance savings, expanding Samsung’s holistic AI-powered smart home ecosystem.

Care Companion: Shifting From Reactive to Proactive Care

Finally, Praveen Raja, Vice President and Head of Digital Health at Samsung Research America (SRA), introduced Samsung’s long-term vision for intelligent care enabled by Samsung’s integrated device ecosystem, redefining care as a reactive need to a proactive opportunity. With AI, phones, appliances, wearables, and other connected devices will help users prevent potential health concerns before they occur.

For example, Samsung aims to provide personalized health coaching, offering effective exercise and sleep coaching to help decrease risk for major chronic diseases and also suggesting appropriate recipes based on ingredients available in connected refrigerators. Additionally, if any abnormal signs or patterns are detected, it will alert users while allowing their health metrics to be shared with providers via the Xealth platform and to facilitating virtual professional consultations. 

Recognizing the importance of preventative health, Samsung is also expanding its capabilities in dementia detection through research partnerships, with wearable devices registering subtle changes to mobility, speech and engagement that can be indicative of long-term cognitive changes. 

Samsung Knox and Knox Matrix serve as the foundation of this hyper-personalized ecosystem, safeguarding user data at every turn. As AI is constantly evolving, so are Knox and Knox Matrix. To maintain security despite constant changes, Samsung’s security systems are consistently identifying AI risks by advancing to protect data in AI training processes and approving models through red team analysis.
