vivo X90 Pro

The latest vivo X90 Series both deliver all-around performance upgrades from the 1-inch main camera to dual-chip technology which is capable of professional photography and gaming. Without further ado, let’s see what the X90 Pro offers!

Design

The design of vivo X90 Pro is aesthetically pleasing and tough due to its “bulky” look from the back. The vivo X90 Pro uses Vegan Leather material on the back of the smartphone, adding a sense of luxury to the device and preventing fingerprints from living on the back.

The X90 Pro dimensions are 164.1mm x 74.53mm x 9.34mm and weigh 214.85g which is quite weighty for lightweight smartphone users. In fact, the camera module takes up plenty of space while you’re holding it horizontally, having your fingers laying fingerprints on top of the camera.

The X90 Pro is only available in Legend Black. Also, it is equipped with IP-68 water and dust resistance, offering extra protection to the king of the flagship.

Display

The X90 Pro uses a 6.78-inch AMOLED curved display with an FHD resolution of 2800 x 1260 supported by a new Q9 luminescent material which reduces blue light on the screen and protects your eye from prolonged screen time.

Besides, the X90 Pro display sports up to 120Hz refresh rate and a 452 PPI pixel density as well as HDR10+ to provide buttery smooth visuals and a better viewing experience.

Thanks to its 1.07 billion True color display and the 1300 nits peak brightness, the X90 Pro delivers rich, natural, and bright colors for users regardless of indoor or outdoor.

Camera

The vivo X90 Pro houses a 1-inch ZEISS 50 MP Main Camera with an IMX989 sensor that helps to reduce flare and glare in low-light photography. Following by another 50 MP Large Aperture Portrait Camera and a 12 MP Wide-Angle Camera.

The camera array sports a ZEISS T* coated glass finish, similar to Sony's high-end camera lenses and a ZEISS logo next to the cameras indicates this relationship. Here is the collection of pictures taken with the X90 Pro in bright environments:

As you can see, the X90 Pro is able to capture outstanding pictures, preserving the best color accuracy on every occasion.

Besides, users are able to capture breathtaking night photography because Sony’s 1-inch IMX989 sensor is 77% larger photosensitive area than the sensor in X80 Pro, resulting in better light-gathering capabilities to capture every crisp detail in the pictures.

What’s so special about the X90 Pro camera is that it allow users to take picture of the moon or stars clearly with the dedicated mode which is Supermoon and Astro. As for me, I couldn’t try out the Supermoon feature as the moon was away from my area, but I managed to capture the stars on a gloomy night.

Performance

The vivo X90 Pro is equipped with Dimensity 9200 5G, flanked by vivo self-developed vivo V2 chip which has been redesigned and upgraded the hardware level to fully optimize the user experience.

As tested, the X90 Pro scores a 1,246,030 mark in the Antutu Benchmark, meaning that the X90 Pro can easily handle every game.

So I decided to test the Genshin Impact with the Highest settings. As expected, the X90 Pro is able to run seamlessly in the Sumeru region.

Forgot to mention that the vivo X90 Pro only comes with 12GB RAM + 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage with no expandable storage option available, so you might need to delete pictures frequently if you take pictures a lot.

In addition, the X90 Pro packs an Ultra Large Vapor Chamber Liquid Cooling System to cater to your gaming needs, the X90 Pro won’t burn your fingers for excessive gaming periods.

Moreover, the X90 Pro stocks a 4,870mAh battery with a 120W Dual-Cell FlashCharge and 50W Wireless Charging where it charges up from 0% to 100% in just 29 minutes of charging as tested. Hence, it is quite handy for those who do not regularly check the battery power of their smartphones.

Buy or no buy

In my opinion, the vivo X90 Pro is one of the best flagship smartphones which is ideal for all scenarios. With the help of the 1-inch ZEISS sensor, capturing low-light photography is not a difficult task anymore.

Despite the fact that the X90 Pro is priced at RM 4999, the X90 Pro is suitable for performance-oriented users with its powerful hardware; fulfilling your day-to-day usage.
