Sometimes picking a new smartphone can be a hassle. Whether choosing a phone for the brand or specific features, one can be overwhelmed by the number of options.

OnePlus is known for its all-rounder phones that suit everyone's needs, and the Nord 2T 5G is the latest addition to their line-up.

Design

The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G features a premium and slender design that gives off an elegant appearance.

The camera module and lenses have metallic silver bezels that blend right into the phone without any obstruction.

The phone is extremely light, weighing 190g and have a width of 8.2mm.

Display and Audio

The phone has a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It also has HDR10+ support that makes the video you watch more colourful.

There are also ambient light sensors on the front and rear of the phone that automatically adjusts the display’s brightness based on the surrounding environment.

For the audio, the Nord 2T 5G has dual stereo speakers that provide clear and bassy audio when watching Youtube videos or listening to music on Spotify.

Camera

The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G comes with a 50 MP Triple Camera that produces AI-enhanced photos and HDR videos that are brighter, clearer, and more colourful.

The rear camera has the same 32 MP front camera as the OnePlus 10 Pro that includes EIS and AI deblurring algorithms to reduce shakiness. It also has an 8 MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view for extremely wide.

The images I took with the camera offered outstanding quality, especially when zoomed in.

The phone also includes a Nightscape mode that allows for improved low-light shots with natural colour. For video-taking, the Nord 2T supports slow-motion videos that record videos up to 960 frames per second.

Performance

The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset that powers the phone with speeds up to 3GHz. It also includes comprehensive AI support and up to 14% faster download and installation speeds.

The phone also comes with 256 GB of storage and 12 GB of RAM, which can be expanded with an additional 5 GB of RAM through the RAM expansion function if enough space is available.

Testing the phone with PUBG Mobile, I had a relatively smooth gameplay experience with no issues whatsoever.

Charging

The phone has a 4,500 mAH battery and comes supplied with an 80W SUPERVOOC, the same charging tech seen in the OnePlus 10 Pro. This tech allows the phone to charge up a day’s worth of power in just 15 minutes. It is 120% faster than the original Nord phone.

Buy or no buy

Overall, the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G is an all-around decent smartphone that is good in all sectors. However, it is not a phone that will impress you if you’re looking for anything ground-breaking It gets the job done as a jack-of-all-trades smartphone. For the retail price of RM 2,099, it is a very intricate phone for anyone who just wants a little bit of everything.
