HUAWEI launched its nova 11 series in Malaysia not long ago. The highly anticipated nova series smartphone features a dual front portrait camera setup to take your self-portrait pictures to new heights! Without further ado, let's dig in and see what the HUAWEI nova 11 Pro has for us.

Design

The HUAWEI nova 11 Pro come in two color variants, Green and Black with our reviewing unit today being the latter. It's worth knowing that both variants feature the first-ever nova Monogram Vegan Leather Design that is not only eye-appealing, it feels very satisfying to touch and feel the texture of the device.

The nova 11 Pro features a striking design with a lightweight body of 188g and ultra-narrow slim bezels, making it extremely comfortable to hold onto thanks to the HUAWEI nova Architecture.

Display

To ensure an exceptional viewing experience, the nova 11 Pro is equipped with a 6.78-inch 120Hz OLED Flawless Curved Display with a resolution of 2652 x 1200, offering a buttery smooth visual experience in every scenario.

Aside from that, the nova 11 Pro is also the first to launch with Display Turbo which offers the best display experience in terms of color, dynamic range, and smoothness. As said, the display sports a 1440 High-Frequency PWM Dimming technology to optimize the display brightness in a dim-light environment to reduce the users' eye strain problems after long screen time.

Equally important, the nova 11 Pro is the first-ever smartphone to receive the flagship Kunlun glass protection to further reinforce the durability of the curved screen and increase the drop resistance for up to 10 times when compared to standard screen protection. As a result, you may have confidence in the curved display of the nova 11 Pro.

Camera

The nova 11 Pro houses a 50MP Ultra Vision Camera and an 8MP Ultra-Wide Macro Camera under the Super Star Orbit Ring Design camera module. Thanks to the RYYB Color Filter Array, users are able to capture crisp pictures and portraits effortlessly on the nova 11 Pro like a professional photographer!

Not only that, but the nova 11 Pro boasts its dual front camera setup of 60MP Ultra Wide Autofocus Camera + 8MP Portrait Close-up Camera. The innovative XD Portrait backed the camera with its advanced low-light portrait enhancement technology, ensuring the portraits pictures rich in details and authentic color reproduction.

Additionally, the nova 11 Pro is able to capture bright and vivid pictures and preserve an impressive level of details indoor and outdoor, day or night. Though it loses the picture quality when zoomed in, you can still consider using the nova 11 Pro as your daily driver to capture any of your favourite scenes given how accurate and sharp the pictures are in most scenario.

In fact, the pictures captures with the Night Mode on the nova 11 Pro remains visible and bright in details. However, you have to hold still for around 1 sec between each shutter to allow more light intake for the lens to work.

Performance

The nova 11 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 778G 4G processor paired with 8GB + 256GB storage configuration with no support for RAM expansion feature for now. Hopefully, HUAWEI will make this feature available on their upcoming products to allow users to fully utilize the ROM available for smoother performance instead.

Moreover, the nova 11 Pro scores a total of 512, 062 on AnTuTu Benchmark (V10.0.1-OB1) which is quite a decent score for a mid-ranger. Even so, we're going to test the nova 11 Pro on Honkai: Star Rail and see how it performs in the graphically intensive game.

Respectively, the Honkai: Star Rail gameplay experience is silky smooth on medium settings 60fps, you won't feel any screen stuttering in combat or when casting skills so no worry about the nova 11 Pro's gaming performance. Most important is that the nova 11 Pro does not heats up intensively even after a non-stop gaming session.

For sustainability, the nova 11 Pro houses a 4500 mAh battery capacity with a generous 100W HUAWEI SuperCharge Turbo capacity to charge up the device in around 30 minutes. Hence, you can say goodbye to your low battery anxiety!

Buy or no buy?

Overall, the HUAWEI nova 11 Pro is a solid device that offers basically everything you need in this fast-paced world especially the 100W HUAWEI SuperCharge Turbo capability. Besides, you'll also get the best camera performance and extra durability of the device thanks to the vegan leather material and Kunlun glass protection from HUAWEI.
