The Infinix HOT 20 Series was born to deliver the ultimate smartphone entertainment experience to consumers around the world, featuring a powerful processor, fluid gaming display, and outstanding photography to meet the demands of today's young people.

Today, I will be reviewing the Infinix HOT 20, a smartphone that delivers a best-in-class experience at an affordable price for generations that seeks amusement.

Design

The Infinix HOT 20 comes with a 6.82” Punch-Hole Fluid Gaming Display with a resolution of 1640 x 720. Its fingerprint sensor is mounted at the side of the HOT 20. Also, the Infinix HOT 20 is available in 4 colors, Sonic Black, Legend White, Tempo Blue, and Fantasy Purple.

Besides, the back of the HOT 20 is clean with a brushed texture, with only a little bit of glossy part in the camera area. The HOT 20 is equipped with a 50 MP f/1.6 Main Camera with an 8 MP AI Lens and an 8 MP front camera. You can notice there is a small circle in between the camera. Though min min was not clear about the function of the small circle, it could be placed to enhance the “beauty of the back” of the HOT 20 as the small circle looks like a small Vinyl Records.

In addition, the HOT 20 still rocks with the 3.5 mm headphone jack beside the Type-C Charging Port.

Display

As mentioned, the HOT 20 features a 6.82-inch edge-to-edge screen design that provides a remarkable display quality with a 90% screen-to-body ratio. Plus, the HOT 20’s high refresh rate of 90Hz provides a smoother display while scrolling through social media and even in-game.

Moreover, the HOT 20 allows users to adjust the screen refresh rate between 90Hz and 60Hz on their own preferences. But, users can also select the Auto-Switch Refresh Rate function to save battery life.

Another thing about the HOT 20 will be the new Dark Region Enhancement Technology that is integrated with an AI resolution algorithm to clarify screen contrast, enhance image quality, and improve brightness in strong sunlight.

Camera

To ensure the camera system on the HOT 20 packs a punch, the HOT 20 is equipped with superior photography capabilities. Featuring a 50 MP Super Nightscape Camera, delivering stunning high-resolution images.

Most importantly, the HOT 20 excels in low-light conditions. As you see, the images taken with Super Night mode carry out impressive levels of detail in the dark thanks to the F1.6 aperture Lens.

Below are the pictures taken with Infinix HOT 20’s AI Camera. I am able to capture nice images easily without having to worry about the lighting and stuff, just whip out the HOT 20 and snap it will do.

There is a Short Video Mode offered by the HOT 20 that allows vlogging easier for young people. For example, the HOT 20 prepares plenty of built-in filters for vloggers to choose from their preferences.

Overall, the filters that HOT 20 offer looks interesting enough and save up a lot of time without having to edit the videos. I hope Infinix HOT 20 could implement something like a store for users to download more templates official or made by users (like Instagram). Thus, users will have many more options to choose from in the Short Video Mode.

Performance

The Infinix HOT 20 is packed with the latest MediaTek Helio G85 chip which enhances the performance in fast and affordable gaming smartphones. Also, the HOT 20 comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM.

As a gaming smartphone, the HOT 20 also prepared another 5GB Extended RAM (total of 11GB RAM) to be added to your device automatically when needed, ensuring the smoothest gaming experience for users nowadays. Users are given the option to select from 3GB to 5GB additional RAM to be added from ROM to improve performance.

Furthermore, the LinkPlus 1.0 technology intelligently allocates wireless network and data traffic to reduce network stutter. Other than that, the HOT 20 brings the brand-new Dar-link 2.0 Ultimate Gaming Booster which accurately scales CPU resources to bring users a more stable and smooth gaming experience.

Not to mention that the XArena AI Gaming Accelerating on the HOT 20 uses the latest Dar-link 2.0 engine to bring new intelligent scene recognition, image optimization, and anti-addiction modes to provide the best viewing experience while gaming. Still, ensuring the users have a healthy screen time.

For battery life, the HOT 20 carries a massive 5000mAh battery that charges up rapidly. Thanks to the Power Marathon technology, it provides the HOT 20 a long-lasting power even after a long gaming session.

In addition to this, the 18W charger comes in the box with a Type-C fast-charging cable which is compatible with other devices that support fast charging so that users can share one cable for multiple devices.

Buy or no buy?

To wrap things up, the Infinix HOT 20 works like a charm for a budget-friendly smartphone in the market. The HOT 20 offers quite amusing features such as gaming mode, 90Hz Refresh Rate Display, Super Night Mode, and more which satisfy the needs of the younger generation.

However, if you are looking for a smartphone to use for years. I would raise my budget and go for another option. I feel like the lifespan for a budget phone will be very limited as the phone will get you through the bare minimum of requirements needed in the future. It would be a good choice when you’re on a budget (for students or light users).
