Qualcomm Announces Snapdragon 888 Plus, Debuts Q3 2021

Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 888 Plus, its new step up from the Snapdragon 888.
The Snapdragon 888 Plus offers a boost in AI performance, with Qualcomm citing a 20% improvement to the 6th generation Qualcomm Artificial Intelligence Engine. The exact figure given to the new processor’s AI performance is 32 TOPS, up from its predecessor’s 26 TOPS. On the CPU side of things, Qualcomm says that the Snapdragon 888+ offers boosted Kryo 680 CPU speed of up to 3 GHz (the exact numbers are 2.995 GHz).
Qualcomm also says that new processor’s AI-based noise cancellation runs on the 2nd gen Qualcomm Sensing Hub.

Elsewhere, the Snapdragon 888 Plus still sports the Adreno 660 GPU, the 3rd gen Snapdragon X60 5G Modem-RF System, and the Snapdragon Elite Gaming feature set, along with Global 5G Multi-SIM and FastConnect 6900 Mobile. It also features familiar features like triple ISP, 4K HDR with Computational HDR video capture, and 8K video capture.
Phones with the Snapdragon 888 Plus are set to ship in Q3 2021. The processor will be included in HONOR’s upcoming Magic 3 series flagship and in devices from brands like ASUS, Motorola, vivo, and Xiaomi.
