PUBG: BattleGrounds, the original version of PUBG on PC and consoles, has seen a steady increase in users since going free to play earlier this year.
A preliminary earnings announcement from parent company Krafton said that the game had seen a steady flow of more than 80,000 users per day since transitioning to a free-to-play model.
They also said that their average revenue per user (ARPU) across all platforms had increased by more than 20% Quarter on Quarter (QoQ). They also noted that international markets outside South Korea drove 94% of the game’s revenue during Q2 2022.
In addition, Krafton reported that its mobile business saw revenue of 550.7 million USD (RM 2.45 billion) in the first half of 2022. PUBG Mobile ranked second in sales among global mobile games.
