This week's Epic Games Store freebie is a post-apocalyptic survival game.
"Panting, scared, the shelter airlock smashes down behind you. You wish you did not have to go outside, but you do. It would be easier to give up. But you don’t. The hardship, the hunger, the thirst. Released in 2016, Sheltered is a game where players must gather resources to keep their family alive inside their underground shelter after surviving a nuclear war. However, food and water aren't enough. Players must make sure their family is hiding in comfort to prevent problems like claustrophobia and radiation.
Players can send out their family members to the surface to gather resources or repair vehicles, which will speed up the exploration. Nevertheless, they are not the only survivors, and some survivors can be threatening. The game uses turn-based combat so players must fight with the threatening survivors or any feral beasts in order to survive.
Players can also bring a pet into their shelter too, either a dog, cat, fish, snake, or horse. Additionally, players will be able to recruit outsiders into their shelters and earn their loyalty.
