Pay What You Want for 1,000 Indie Games in Itch.io's Racial Justice Bundle

Yes, you read that right. Itch.io is now offering a pay-what-you-want bundle in collaboration with 790 creators (and counting) to contribute to racial equality.

We live in a time of racial injustice, inequality, and police brutality against black people. We hope that everyone takes a stand in any way that they can. We’ve partnered with creators from all across our platform to support organizations that are working directly with those affected.

For the unfamiliar, Itch.io is a platform that hosts and sells multitudes of DRM-free indie games for those looking to play something a little less mainstream. They have partnered with creators and developers across all genres to contribute the proceeds of this bundle towards the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and Community Bail Fund, split 50/50 each way.

Of course, there is a minimum donation of US$5 (~RM21) - which means it's more like 'pay what you want above US$5' bundle - which is still a pittance for over 1,000 games worth over $5,200 in total - not to mention the fact that your contribution will be going towards a good cause. The bundle has already raised over US$2.8 million so far.

Do note however, that Steam keys will not be provided for bundle purchasers - only direct downloads will be available from the Itch.io website. Steam allows you to add non-Steam games to your library however, so there is a workaround if you're the type who likes to organise your entire game collection in one place.

To purchase the bundle, you can head over here. It will be available until 17 June, so get in quick if you want to chip in towards a racially equal future (or simply expand your massive collection of games collecting dust - we won't judge).
