A tipster on Weibo has claimed that OPPO will be launching a foldable smartphone next month with the codename, "Peacock". The same tipster also claimed that another high-end device codenamed "Butterfly" will launch next year.
The foldable phone could be powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor. Meanwhile, the "Butterfly" device could be a Find X4 series phone and may be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 898 chipset.
Previously, the OPPO foldable phone was said to feature an 8" low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTO) display and would run the ColorOS 12. The OLED panel might offer a 120 Hz refresh rate. As for its cameras, the device could sport a Sony IMX766 50 MP main camera on the rear and a 32 MP front camera. Underneath the hood, it could pack a 4500 mAh battery, which supports a 65 W fast-charging technology.
The new OPPO foldable is expected to feature a design similar to the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G.
