Last week, Instagram finally brought a highly demanded feature to its platform - the ability to send and reply direct messages via web browser.

Prior to this update, users could only browse their Instagram feed and make comments on posts; direct messaging relied solely on the mobile app.
The desktop messaging function works similarly to the mobile one - you can upload photos, send emojis and heart react messages. We're still waiting on a message search function though - get on it, Instagram!
