It’s been 2 years since HUAWEI launched the Mate Series in Malaysia. Today, HUAWEI introduces the new HUAWEI Mate 50 Series with industry-leading innovative technologies including the new mobile photography system equipped in the new model. Let’s see what kind of innovations are available in the Mate 50 Series.
Camera & Screen
The Mate 50 Series is the FIRST HUAWEI Smartphone equipped with HUAWEI’s own mobile imaging brand, XMAGE instead of the Leica camera from its predecessor. The XMAGE camera supports a 10-size adjustable physical aperture between f/1.4 and f/4.0. With the help of the XD Fusion Pro image engine and high light intake, the Mate 50 Series is able to capture the light and shadow details precisely. Not just that, the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro has gotten first place in the DXOMark Smartphone camera ranking!

Besides, the HUAWEI Mate 50Pro Orange Vegan Leather Version uses the Kunlun glass as a display screen which enhances the device's durability by 10 times stronger than the standard version. This is because Kunlun glass consists of 10 quadrillion-level nanocrystals which make it more resilient and drop-resistant.
Note that the Mate 50 Pro Orange Vegan Leather Version is also the first ever smartphone to get five stars glass drop resistance certification from Switzerland’s SGS certification.
Also, the HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro Orange Vegan Leather Version also comes with IP68-rated water resistance of up to 6m underwater compared to the standard Mate 50 Pro (up to 2m).
Battery
The Mate 50 Series innovative low-battery Emergency Mode activates when the battery falls to 1% called SuperEnergy Boosting enabling Mate 50 Series smartphones to extend standby time for more than 2 hours or up to 12 minutes of call time. Thus, the 2 hours of standby time will be enough for you to look for the charger before it dies out. Speaking about battery life, the HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro is equipped with a large battery capacity of 4,700mAh and is still lighter than its predecessor HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro packed with a 4,200mAh battery capacity.
EMUI 13
EMUI 13 is first introduced on the HUAWEI Mate 50 Series. The EMUI 13 will make things much easier with the SuperStorage and SuperHub features for users to organize and share files with only one step on your Mate 50 Series.
For your information, the SuperStorage feature removes duplicate files in an imperceptible way and compresses rarely-used apps. This preserves up to 20GB of space, leaving more room for the abundance of photos and videos in the Mate 50 Series.
In addition, the SuperHub allows you to temporarily store images, documents, and text and share them together with your family, friends, and colleagues in batches which is a great way to transfer between apps and devices efficiently.
HUAWEI AppGallery
HUAWEI enjoyers can download applications from Huawei’s own application store, called HUAWEI AppGallery.
The HUAWEI AppGallery provides all-scenario privacy and security check measures with these 4 steps:
Developer Real-name authentication
Four security check measures
Installation Security
Operation defense mechanism
Not convinced to use the HUAWEI AppGallery because of the concern about security and privacy while using AppGallery? Don’t worry, the HUAWEI AppGallery guarantees users' privacy will be protected with a security check function before and after the apps are installed on the smartphone.
To use the security features on AppGallery:

The security check includes virus scan, fraud detection, privacy protection, malicious behavior check, and security tips which can be done in just one tap.
