Nintendo had plans to create an accessibility controller similar to Microsoft’s Xbox Adaptive Controller.

Speaking with Inverse, Former Nintendo of America chief Reggie Fils-Amie revealed that before he departed from the company in 2019, Nintendo was developing the controller as part of an industry-wide push.
He noted that the goal was to create a “platform-agnostic” controller that could be used for both Xbox and PlayStation consoles as well.

This is a surprise because there isn’t a first-party controller that works with every console on the market. The only way you can do it is through modding.
Reggie didn’t elaborate further on the device or whether it is still in development. But he hopes that it is and will be able to share with consumers as soon as possible.
