As the OLED model of Nintendo Switch is coming on 8 October, Nintendo has lowered the price of the base model across Europe. The Nintendo Switch is now priced at €299.99 (~RM1,470) in Europe, which is €30 less than the previous €279.99 (~RM1,617) pricing. In the UK, Nintendo has adjusted the price to £259.99 (~RM1,493).
The new pricing is now available at My Nintendo Store. While the new change is a month ahead of the OLED model's launch, it is also likely due to currency exchange rates.
"After carefully weighing up a variety of factors, including currency exchange rates in Europe and the upcoming launch of Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, we decided that now was the appropriate time to change the European trade price of Nintendo Switch," a Nintendo spokesperson told The Verge.
Also, the new pricing hasn't been reflected at other retail stores like Amazon. As for the Malaysian market, there's still no news of the reduced pricing from the current retail price at around RM1299.
With the new pricing, the base model might make for a better cut. But for those of you who want to play on a bigger and brighter screen with a new kickstand, you can wait for the upcoming OLED model.
