The upcoming Souls-like Mortal Shell will be getting a physical release, it was announced earlier this week.

“We’ve heard your requests,” wrote the developers on their website. “In fact, we’ve been stunned by the sheer amount of people who have asked for a physical edition of Mortal Shell. So we’re delighted to reveal that a boxed version of Mortal Shell is now in production!”

The physical version will be arriving quite a bit later than the digital version, on 2 October instead of 18 August. There’s no disc, but it comes with an exclusive fold-out poster and softback artbook.

Unfortunately, it looks like those of us in Asia won’t be getting it. Instead, the physical version will only be available in Europe and North America when it releases. It's a shame, since the game's visual design makes the idea of getting an art book pretty sweet.

The digital version of the game, which will be available worldwide at least, will be an Epic Games Store exclusive for one year on PC, and will be available on PS4 and Xbox One as well. The game will allow players to inhabit defeated warrior remains called Mortal Shells, with each possessing their unique playstyles.
