MOONTON Games was awarded Mobile Game Developer of the Year, underscoring its continued leadership in the mobile gaming industry. Its flagship title, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), recently marked its 9th anniversary with the “9th to Meet You” campaign, introducing a new game mode and a vibrant girl group theme that reflects the studio’s dedication to fresh, engaging player experiences. Now uniting gamers across 190 countries, MLBB boasts over 1.5 billion registered users and 110 million monthly active players.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) once again secured Mobile Esports Game of the Year, marking its fourth time earning the prestigious title. According to Esports Charts, MLBB dominated 2024 as the most-watched mobile esports title with over 475 million Hours Watched (HW), underscoring its immense global reach and passionate community.

The game’s success continued into the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) — the world’s largest multi-title esports event — where the MLBB Mid Season Cup broke records as the most-watched tournament in EWC history, exceeding 3 million Peak Concurrent Viewers (PCV). Meanwhile, the MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI) stood out as EWC 2025’s largest women’s tournament, further showcasing MOONTON Games’ commitment to inclusivity and representation in esports. MLBB is also set to appear as a medalled event at the upcoming 33rd SEA Games and 2026 Asian Games, reinforcing its role in empowering athletes to represent their countries on the global stage.

Reflecting on these milestones, Marcus Lim, Head of Overseas Public Relations at MOONTON Games, shared that the wins highlight the team’s dedication to delivering player-first experiences and pushing boundaries in mobile gaming. He added that MOONTON remains committed to innovation through upcoming campaigns, partnerships, and the highly anticipated M7 World Championship (M7) — all designed to inspire players and drive the esports industry forward.

Team Liquid Philippines (TLPH), the reigning Mobile Legends: Bang Bang world champions, earned the title of Mobile Esports Team of the Year, marking another major milestone in their storied journey. After their victory at the MSC at EWC 2025, TLPH became the first team in history to complete the MLBB Esports trophy collection, a testament to their teamwork, consistency, and dominance on the global stage.

Now, TLPH sets its sights on achieving the Golden Road—winning all major MLBB titles within a single year, a feat no team has yet accomplished. With MPL Philippines Season 15 and MSC at EWC 25 already secured, they aim to continue their winning streak through MPL Philippines Season 16 and the M7 World Championship. The powerhouse roster includes Sanji, Jaypee, Perkziva, Oheb, KarlTzy, and Sanford, each playing a pivotal role in the team’s success.

Mitch Liwanag, Country Manager of TLPH, expressed gratitude for the recognition, thanking the GamingonPhone Awards, the Team Liquid Global leadership, and the Cavalry fanbase for their unwavering support. “This award belongs to everyone behind the scenes—our coaches, staff, families, and fans. Your support drives us to keep pushing forward. Here’s to more wins, more trophies, and more unforgettable moments together.”

Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno of Team Liquid Philippines claimed the Mobile Esports Player of the Year award — the only individual accolade of the night. Recognized for his exceptional skill and consistency, KarlTzy achieved a Career Grand Slam, having won international titles in both the M Series and MSC, along with four MPL Philippines championships. His remarkable career and relentless pursuit of excellence have cemented his legacy as the “Face of MLBB Esports.”

In his acceptance speech, KarlTzy expressed heartfelt gratitude: “Thank you to the GamingonPhone Awards for this incredible honor! I’m truly thankful to my teammates, coaches, organization, and all the fans who’ve supported me through every high and low. I’ll keep striving to make you all proud!”

Looking ahead, the M7 World Championship will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, in January 2026. Returning to the city that hosted M4 in 2022, this seventh edition of MLBB’s premier tournament promises to be the largest M Series yet, bringing together the world’s best players in the heartland of MLBB Esports.
