MediaTek’s Helio G series now has two new octa-core members in the form of the Helio G96 and Helio G88.
The Helio G96 offers support for Full HD+ resolutions and 120 Hz refresh rates on the display front, and also supports both LCD and AMOLED. Elsewhere, the chip can support up to 108 MP cameras along with 4G LTE, dual 4G SIM, VoLTE, and ViLTE.
Meanwhile, the Helio G88 supports refresh rates of up to 90 Hz and up to 54 MP main cameras. Other camera-related features offered by the chip include dual-camera bokeh captures, a Camera Control Unit, and Electronic Image Stabilization, and Rolling Shutter Compensation. It has Dual 4G VoLTE support and Integrated Voice Wakeup.
The Helio G96 has Arm Cortex-A55 and Arm Cortex-A76 CPUs and 2.05 GHz max frequency, while the Helio G88 has Arm Cortex-A55 and Arm Cortex-A75 CPUs with a 2 GHz max frequency. For graphics, the Helio G96 uses a Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU while the Helio G88 uses the Arm Mali-G52 MC2. Both chips sport the MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite technology. #mediatek #helio
