Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has recently announced a partnership with Maxis to transform the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) into a 5G hub centre.
According to MAHB, Maxis will be focusing on the Wi-Fi and 5G-related network services and solutions at both KLIA and KLIA2 terminals. Maxis' smart Wi-Fi infrastructure will help airport retailers to "better understand customer behaviour and provide insights to capitalise on omnichannel marketing and ensure a seamless sales experience".
MAHB Group CEO Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh believes that the 5G technology will strengthen the foundation for enabling new technologies and the digitalisation of the airport's operations.
