LG Unveils UltraGear evo, REDEFINING 5K GAMING WITH WORLD’S FIRST AI UPSCALING TECHNOLOGY!

LG Electronics has announced the global launch of its new premium gaming monitor brand, UltraGear evo™, set to debut at CES 2026. Expanding on LG’s leadership in high-resolution gaming displays, the UltraGear evo lineup introduces 5K-and-above monitors across OLED, MiniLED, and ultra-wide formats, delivering enhanced clarity, speed, and immersion. The initial range includes three flagship models: 39GX950B, 27GM950B, and 52G930B, all built around ultra-high-resolution performance.

UltraGear evo also debuts LG’s proprietary on-device AI technology, featuring the world’s first 5K AI Upscaling, which enables 5K-level visuals without requiring GPU upgrades and allows more content to be enjoyed in stunning high definition.

39-Inch 5K2K OLED Gaming Monitor With 5K AI Upscaling

The LG UltraGear evo 39-inch GX9 (39GX950B) is a 5K2K OLED gaming monitor that combines stunning visuals with immersive gameplay. Its new on-device AI solution enhances content in real time, delivering 5K-class clarity without GPU upgrades, while AI Scene Optimisation and AI Sound refine both images and audio for a more immersive experience.

Featuring Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology, the monitor offers improved brightness, color accuracy, and panel longevity, with perfect blacks and lifelike colors. The Dual Mode lets gamers switch between 165Hz at 5K2K for visual fidelity or 330Hz at WFHD for ultra-smooth competitive play, with an ultra-fast 0.03ms (GtG) response time.

The 1500R-curved 21:9 ultrawide display provides the vertical height of a 32-inch screen with expanded horizontal immersion, 142 PPI pixel density, and VESA DisplayHDR™ True Black 500 certification, delivering detailed highlights and deep blacks even in dark scenes.

World’s First 5K New MiniLED Monitor solving for blooming

The LG UltraGear evo 27-inch GM9 (27GM950B) is the world’s first 5K New MiniLED gaming monitor for 27-inch screens, designed to minimise halo effects and deliver professional-grade optical clarity. With 2,304 local dimming zones and Zero Optical Distance engineering, it offers ultra-high luminance, precise contrast, and detailed visuals across bright and dark scenes.

Like the GX9, it features on-device AI for 5K AI Upscaling, AI Scene Optimization, and AI Sound, enhancing images and audio in real time without taxing the GPU. Dual Mode allows switching between 165Hz at 5K or 330Hz at QHD, with a 1ms (GtG) response time. Certified VESA DisplayHDR 1000 with peak brightness up to 1,250 nits, the monitor delivers vivid highlights and deep blacks for lifelike gaming visuals.

World’s Largest 52-Inch 5K2K 240Hz Gaming Monitor

The LG UltraGear evo 52-inch G9 (52G930B) is the world’s largest 5K2K gaming monitor, offering expansive screen real estate with a 240Hz refresh rate for smooth, responsive gameplay. Its 12:9 panoramic display stretches like a 42-inch vertical height monitor but 33% wider, with a 1000R curvature for immersive viewing and vivid colors supported by VESA DisplayHDR™ 600.

Lee Choong-hwoan, head of LG’s Display Business, highlighted that UltraGear evo eliminates compromises in gaming displays, featuring innovations like 5K AI Upscaling for high-resolution clarity, brightness, and perfect blacks.

The evo lineup will be showcased at CES 2026, including the “Dream Setup” inspired by Reddit gaming communities and a SimCraft racing simulation featuring the 39-inch GX9. Additionally, the UltraGear GX7 (27GX790B), a 27-inch QHD monitor with Primary RGB Tandem OLED, 540Hz refresh rate, and Dual Mode (720Hz), will launch globally on CES 2026’s opening day.
