Lenovo ThinkPad XI Nano Announced, X1 Fold Coming This Fall

Lenovo has unveiled their lightweight ThinkPad XI Nano. The company also revealed that the ThinkPad X1 Fold will be arriving in Fall 2020.

Weighing 1.99 pounds, the ThinkPad X1 Nano features a narrow bezel 13-inch 2K display with 100% sRGB and a 16:10 aspect ratio. There are touch display options available. Inside, it has an 11th gen Intel Core processor – up to i7 – with Intel Iris X graphics inside, and can be preloaded with Windows 10 Pro or Ubuntu.

Audio-wise, the XI Nano has four Dolby Atmos-supporting speakers and four 360-degree microphones. For security, Lenovo touts the device as the first ThinkPad with an “updated suite of AI and biometric ThinkShield security features”. In addition, it also has Thunderbolt 4 support and optional 5G.

As for the ThinkPad X1 Fold, Lenovo described it back in January as the “first fully functional PC with a folding OLED display”. “The X1 Fold offers a revolutionary mix of portability and versatility that defines a new computing category enabled by Intel Core processors with Intel Hybrid Technology and made possible by Intel’s Project Athena innovation program,” says the press release. “Blending familiar functionality that we all know from smartphones, tablets and laptops into a single foldable PC device that will forever reshape the way you work, play, create and connect.”

The device has a 13.3-inch display, USB-C support, and optional 5G. It can also be used with optional accessories like the Bluetooth Mini Fold Keyboard (which Lenovo says can be “stored and wirelessly charged inside the system”), Lenovo Mod Pen, and Lenovo Easel. There will be a Windows 10 and Windows 10X version.

For prices, the ThinkPad XI Nano has an expected starting price of US$1,399 (~RM5,805) while the ThinkPad X1 Fold with Windows 10 will have a starting price of US$2,499 (~RM10,370). The former will be available in Q4 2020, while the latter will be available this Fall. The press release says that the X1 Fold with Windows 10 is already available for order and will ship in a few weeks, but the Malaysian site’s product page only offers a notification option at the time of writing.
