iQOO Z10 Review: The Device to Help You Break Free From Battery Panic!

iQOO have recently launched the latest addition to their Z series, the iQOO Z10, a new smartphone that comes with incredible features such as its incredible battery life and stunning designs, all of which are packed into a single device. In this review article, we’ll be diving into the phone’s battery life, design, display, camera, performance, and AI features to see if the iQOO Z10 has what it takes to match what you’re looking for in a smartphone.

Battery

One of the standout features that the iQOO Z10 has over its competitors would be that it is equipped with the largest battery that has been released in the Z series thus far, a 7300 mAh battery, which ensures the device will be able to provide all-day performance when it is heavily used. Impressively, despite the large battle, the device is still able to maintain its slim profile.

 In fact, the Z10 is capable of handling up to 35.5 hours of continuous YouTube streaming or 28.3 hours of browsing on Instagram, which is ideal for those who enjoy watching social media content. 

Additionally, even if up to eight apps were left running for 24 hours, the Z10 is able to hold on with 10% of its battery life, which showcases how efficient the phone’s power management system is. In fact, I decided to conduct two tests in order to measure the battery drainage of the device. The first test would be a game test, where I would play three different games, all set to the highest settings, and while Esports Mode and Monster Mode are turned on as well.

The two games that I chose for this test were the two popular MOBA games in Malaysia, Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. After an hour of gameplay for both games, I was impressed to see that the battery consumption for both games wasn’t too high, as Honor of Kings only consumed 15% of battery while Mobile Legends only consumed 9% of battery.

The second test that I decided to test out its battery consumption for video streaming, and so I watched YouTube videos at 1440p for an entire hour. Once the hour had passed, the results showed that the Z10 only consumed 6% of the battery, and this helps to prove how effective this device is at watching videos for prolonged periods.

Furthermore, accompanying its impressive battery, the iQOO Z10 also supports a 90W FlashCharge, which will enable your phone to be powered back up to full health, which is extremely helpful as you’ll be able to return back to the action in an instant. When measuring the charging speed of the device, it was able to reach 50% in just 34 minutes before it was able to reach 100% in 67 minutes, and this demonstrates the fast charging speed of the device.

Though, that’s not all as the Z10 also supports other forms of charging as well, such as its 7.5W reverse charging which will allow you to be able to charge other devices using the phone via a USB-C cable.

For those looking to have an optimal gaming experience, the Bypass Charging feature is one that will catch their eye, as this feature will help ensure that your performance will be taken to the next level while you’re gaming, and this also helps to prevent the phone from overheating as well as maintain its battery level.

Design

When it comes to its design, the iQOO Z10 features a stylish and clean appearance, which helps give it a more modern and polished design. Not only that, but the device also comes with a sleek and lightweight design and this is showcased with its thickness measuring at 7.89mm. And with this compact build, you can be rest assured that the device will snugly fit your hand for everyday uses.

Adding to its stylish design would be the smooth matte finish on the back of the phone, which will help reduce the chances of fingerprints while also enhancing the soft and skin-friendly texture which makes it more pleasant to touch.

Alongside its stylish appearance, the Z10 also comes with a durable build which will be able to protect the device from everyday accidents. The device comes with a Comprehensive Cushioning Structure which allows it to have greater shock absorption and drop protection in order to reduce the damage of the impact while also ensuring that there will be no malfunctions caused by drops. The device is also equipped with a Shield Glass, which has a 150% greater drop resistance than its predecessor, the Z9. 

In addition, it also comes with a Drop-Resistant Protective Film which reduces the risk of screen damages even when falling on concrete surfaces. The durability that the phone showcases has even passed the Military-Grade Shock Resistance Test, so even if you accidentally dropped your phone on the ground, there’s no need to worry with the Z10’s amazing resistance.

Asides from that, the device also comes with an IP65 Water and Dust Resistance and this would ensure that the device would be kept safe from dust or water splashes.

The iQOO Z10 is available between two colour options, the Stellar Black and the Glacier Silver, both of which have a strong visual appearance which would leave a strong impression on consumers.

Display

The iQOO Z10 comes with a 6.77-inch Eyecare AMOLED Display which helps provide an enjoyable viewing experience whether it’s for watching videos or playing games. The device also comes with Ultra-Thin Bezels that are only 1.86mm wide, which creates a more immersive visual experience.

Besides this, the device also comes with an impressive peak brightness of 5000 nits, and with this, you’ll be able to enjoy the contents on your screen with no issue even when you’re outside under the bright lights.

Additionally, the Z10 also ensures the safety of your eyes even during prolonged usage by reducing the eye strain, as it comes with a 3840Hz Anti-Flicker Eye Protection to ease eye fatigue while also enhancing your viewing comfort for a more pleasant experience. In fact, you can be assured of your eye vision as the device has been certified by SGS for low blue light.

Camera

When looking at the camera features of the Z10, it certainly doesn’t disappoint as it comes with a 50 MP IMX882 OIS Main Camera, which is able to capture crystal-clear images to ensure that every shot is vibrant and clear. It is also paired with an impressive 32MP Front Wide ensuring that landscape shots and group selfies will remain effortless while the images come out with sharper detail and clearer features.

During the day, the images that are captured are vibrant and full of detail, and the same can be said during the night or other low-light environments as the Z10 is equipped with advanced portrait lighting to ensure greater light intake even in the dark, and this ensures that the iQOO Z10 will be able to capture stunning images in both the light and dark. 

Performance

The iQOO Z10 is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, a chipset that enhances the overall performance of the device which allows it to deliver smooth performances while also ensuring that there would be lesser power consumption while using it. The Z10 is the first in its series to utilise this powerful chipset. 

The device comes with up to 12GB of RAM with an additional 12GB via Extended RAM expansion and this addition ensures that users will be able to switch between applications faster. Besides that, with up to 512GB of storage space, it will ensure that you will be able to have more than enough space in order to keep games, applications and other files in your phone with worry.

While the phone isn’t highlighted to be a gaming phone, the performance of the Z10 definitely shows that it resembles one. The gaming experience feels incredible, and you’ll be able to enjoy games such as Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, at the highest graphics and refresh rate settings, which is 120Hz for Honor of Kings and 90Hz for Mobile Legends, as the gameplay remains smooth and fluid throughout, and with no signs of lag whatsoever.

Adding on to its performance, the iQOO Z10 also comes with both an Esports Mode and a Monster Mode in order to heighten the performance level of the device. When activated, Monster Mode will push the system into high-performance mode which would unlock more power for demanding tasks and games.

On the other hand, when turning on Esports Mode, it helps take gaming another step further by improving the overall performance of the device by providing better network stability and even providing smoother frame rates for a more immersive gameplay experience.

AI Features

In addition to its strong performance and sleek design, the iQOO Z10 also comes equipped with a range of AI features that will enhance the user experience for users by making their lives easier. Whether you're searching for stuff online or editing your photos these AI features ensure a smoother, more efficient experience.

AI Erase

With the AI Erase feature, users will be able to edit out any stray objects or bystanders that would ruin what would otherwise be a perfect shot, and this will allow a cleaner and better picture with just a few taps on the screen.
