HUAWEI XMAGE AWARDS 2025 EXHIBITION TAKES PARIS BY STORM WITH “THE WORLD, YOU AND ME” SHOWCASE!

Malaysia shone on the global photography stage as four local photographers were selected among the XMAGE 100 winners at the 2025 HUAWEI XMAGE Awards Ceremony and Annual Exhibition, which opened today at the Grand Palais in Paris.

Co-hosted with Paris Photo, one of the world’s leading photography events, the exhibition celebrated creative works from HUAWEI smartphone users across 78 countries. Under the theme “The World, You and Me”, this year’s showcase highlighted how mobile photography bridges cultures and perspectives through the blend of technology and artistic expression.

This is Huawei’s third partnership with Paris Photo—after 2018 and 2019—and the first since launching its XMAGE imaging brand, marking the company’s shift toward storytelling and cultural expression in addition to technological advancement.

The 2025 exhibition featured three themed sections — “I Capture, Therefore I Am”, “The Constructed, The Perceived”, and “In Their Own Words” — each exploring how people interpret the world differently and how visual storytelling can shape new perspectives. It also acted as a creative meeting point for photographers, fans, and industry experts to exchange ideas and celebrate the universal language of imagery.

Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Kevin Ho highlighted the role of XMAGE in helping people understand the world and each other through technology and photography. CMO Alex reinforced this, encouraging creators to continue capturing and inspiring through XMAGE.

This year’s XMAGE Awards attracted over 743,000 global submissions, with four Malaysian photographers earning spots in the top 100 for their compelling visuals and narratives.

From Malaysia, Bospami (Peace at the Peak), Cikgu Faizul (Innocence in Colours), Hazize (Men at Work), and Hafizwira (Last Night Last Touch) were named XMAGE 100 winners. Their entries were celebrated for authenticity, emotional depth, and capturing extraordinary moments in everyday life, and are now displayed alongside international winners at Paris’ Grand Palais, highlighting Malaysia’s growing influence in mobile photography.
