HUAWEI Watch Fit 4 Pro Review: Sleek, Sporty & Smart

When it comes to wearables, the HUAWEI Watch Fit series has always been a solid middle ground between full-fledged smartwatches and fitness bands. But this time around, with the HUAWEI Watch Fit 4 Pro, things feel different. It’s not just a minor update. It’s an ambitious leap. After wearing it for nearly two weeks, whether at the gym, during grocery runs, or late-night pickleball sessions, I can confidently say that this watch punches well above its weight.

Let’s break it down.

Design – Lightweight luxury on your wrist

Right out of the box, the Watch Fit 4 Pro gives off premium vibes. I got my hands on the Blue version with the fluoroelastomer strap, and at first glance, it reminded me a bit of the Apple Watch Ultra, but this is really much thinner, sleeker, and far less intimidating. Personally I'd prefer the fluoroelastomer strap more, as you wouldn't need to swap out the nylon strap for your sweating workout sessions.

It’s super light, but doesn’t feel plasticky or cheap. The titanium alloy bezel and sapphire glass definitely give it that high-end finish, while the 9.3mm thickness makes it one of the slimmest wearables I’ve ever worn. This make it easier to wear it to sleep without feeling like something was strapped to your wrist.

That being said, the blue accent on the crown does look great with the stock strap, but kinda clashed if you want to swap it out for another strap. Still, the interchangeable strap design is convenient, and I liked that it fits straps from the previous models.

Display – Bright, crisp, and usable under the sun

The 1.82-inch AMOLED display is honestly one of the highlights. It’s bright, like real bright. Huawei claims 3000 nits peak brightness, and I believe it. I had no issues glancing at my pace or heart rate even under the blazing afternoon sun during my workout session at the park.

Colors are vibrant, and text is sharp thanks to its 347ppi retina-grade resolution. Swiping through menus felt smooth, and Raise to Wake worked reliably. One minor issue — the bezels are noticeably thicker on the top and bottom. It’s not a dealbreaker, but if you’re OCD like me, you’ll probably slap on a black watch face to hide the borders. Worked like a charm.

Performance – Feels like a top flagship, minus the price

Running on HarmonyOS, the Watch Fit 4 Pro feels surprisingly snappy. Animations are fluid, and I didn’t notice any lag even when switching between workout tracking, music control, and notification glances. The dual-button setup (crown + shortcut key) is intuitive. Press the crown to bring up apps, double press to toggle, and the lower button takes you straight into workout modes.

Speaking of workouts — over 100+ modes, and I tested quite a few. Mainstream ones like running, rowing and indoor cycling work just as excellent as ever. It even got some niches workout mode like various dancing, extreme sports and even esports, probably almost any kind of workout that you can think of.

The built-in GPS is also on point, thanks to HUAWEI's Sunflower Positioning System, accurately tracking all your runs, walks, and rides. Another cool feature added to the Fit 4 Pro is the RouteDraw, where you can draw your own route before starting your session. This is perfect for those who loves to try different routes and tracks like they're unlocking achievements.

And if you're into golf or diving, this watch has you covered with swing tracking and dive modes (up to 40m) — though I can't say I tested those myself… yet.

For the health tracking features, everything are working as fantastic as they are on any other HUAWEI wearables. Heart rate, SpO2, Arterial stiffness etc, all doing their job perfectly. The ECG function now uses a newer and improved electrode technology, so the signal collection is more accurate and responsive, but the finger might takes a bit of time to get used to position nicely in contact with the electrode.

It is also worth mentioning that the Emotional Wellbeing is quite accurate, not some gimmicky features, as it perfectly tracks my unpleasant mood when I'm losing my games.

Battery – Stamina champ

Battery life was decent, but not quite the 10 days Huawei claims, but still it's very close. I'm using it almost all the time when I'm up, except for sleeping, and with AOD off, I'm getting close to 8 days of up time (From 31 May to 7 June), and still left with 13% by end of day. My lifestyle is pretty moderate so if you're a heavier user, you might be able to get around 4 to 5 days.

But don't worry about that, because charging was really fast. It went from 6% to full in about 60 minutes with the magnetic puck charger. A short 30-minute charge could bring the watch from 6% to 61% so that should perfectly settle your battery anxiety.

Verdict – Is the HUAWEI Watch Fit 4 Pro worth it?

So, should you get the HUAWEI Watch Fit 4 Pro? If you’re after a smartwatch that looks premium, lasts almost a week, tracks your workouts accurately, and doesn’t cost a bomb, then yes, absolutely. It bridges the gap between a fitness tracker and a smartwatch beautifully. It may lack full app support and mobile payments, but for a price tag of RM999, it offers superb value.

Personally, I loved wearing it. It didn’t feel bulky or “too sporty”, and yet it kept me motivated to move more, track my health, and stay connected. Whether you’re an Android user or iPhone user, the Watch Fit 4 Pro is a stylish, capable companion for everyday life from the gym to the cafe to your next hiking trip.
