Today, HUAWEI officially launched its latest flagship devices - the HUAWEI P50 Pro and foldable HUAWEI P50 Pocket - in Malaysia, with highly advanced photography technologies, including the HUAWEI XD Optics and XD Fusion Pro Image Engine.
HUAWEI P50 Pro
Available in Cocoa Gold and Golden Black, the P50 Pro features a 6.6" 3D curved glass display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and full P3 wide color gamut support.
Its quad rear camera system consists of a 50MP True-Chroma color camera, a 40MP True-Chroma mono camera, a 13MP ultrawide angle camera, and a 64 MP telephoto camera, complete with the HUAWEI XD Optics and XD Fusion Pro Imagine Engine to deliver true-to-life images with high clarity and dynamic range. The XD Optics is capable of rectifying optical errors and reproducing fine details of images while the XD Fusion Pro can enhance details, colors, and dynamic range. Color accuracy can also be greatly improved with the True-Chroma Image Engine.
The P50 Pro now supports 200x zoom range and zoomed shots up to 100 times are clear, all thanks to the XD Optics. For video-taking, the device supports 4K and a new AIS Pro image stabilization solution.
Underneath the new flagship is a Snapdragon 888 4G SoC, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is powered by a 4360mAh battery, which supports the 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge. The HUAWEI P50 Pro retails for RM4,199.
HUAWEI P50 Pocket
HUAWEI's first foldable comes with the P50 series double-ring design with one housing the camera module and the other act as a smart screen cover. It features a 6.9" 21:9 display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 1440Hz PWM dimming support for eye protection.
Also adopting the XD Optics and True-Chroma Image Engine, the foldable packs a triple rear camera module comprising a 40MP True-Chroma camera, a 13MP ultrawide angle camera, and a 32MP Ultra Spectrum camera. It also has a new Ultra Spectrum Fluorescence Photography feature, which can capture content and details that are unseen by the human eye.
The customizable cover screen offers a wide variety of themes. It supports the display of notifications, schedule, calendar, music, weather, and controls. It comes with a 4000mAH battery that supports the 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge.
Powered by the Snapdragon 888 4G chipset, it is equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in a white color finish. There is also another Premium Edition that comes in Premium Gold offering 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The standard version costs RM5,999 while the Premium Edition is priced at RM7,299.
Pre-Orders
Starting from today, the HUAWEI P50 Pro can be pre-ordered on the HUAWEI official website, HUAWEI Experience Stores, authorized platforms, and retail stores until 21 January. Official sale will begin on 22 January. For every pre-order of the device, you'll receive freebies worth up to RM2,100. (Updated)
Meanwhile, the HUAWEI P50 Pocket will be available for pre-order starting from 22 January until 13 February on the HUAWEI official website, HUAWEI Experience Stores, authorized platforms, and retail stores. Each pre-order will come with goodies worth up to RM2,700. (Updated)
